Jen Brown holds a Master’s Degree in Art History and a Curatorial Diploma from York University in Toronto (class of 2004). She is Canadian but has lived in Japan and Mexico, and currently resides in Portland, OR. She is a self-taught painter; however her education in art history bears insight into the subject and style of her paintings.
Brown is always looking to exhibit/publish her work; please contact her if you are interested in doing so. Furthermore, she paints custom portraits on commission; contact her for an estimate.
The Pendulum Swing Lecture
On Feb 26th, 2018, Brown gave a lecture on behalf of the People’s Colloquium (an educational non-profit in Portland, OR). Part 1 of the lecture (not recorded) was about the rise of abstract (Modern Art) and the reasons for it, while Part 2 was about the backlash to abstract art and the rise of representational art today.
